Network Systems Specialist
***MUST HAVE 2-3 YEARS OF TIVOLI and ArcServe

Duration: 12 weeks
Location: NYC metro area and Lyndhurst, NJ (will commute back and forth as needed)
Hourly Rate: MAX $35/hr
Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green card Holder, EAD
SUMMARY
The specialist will be responsible for the Level 2 support of network and server equipment for NYC Metro locations but not necessarily limited to these locations. The Specialist will also be responsible for all steady aspects of physical plant for access and distribution, from wiring closets to computer rooms and all MAC’s for the environment. The specialist will also be responsible for break fix for all NYC Metro locations and Level 2 daily operational duties but not necessarily limited to these locations. The specialist will be responsible for assisting the manager in developing project plans, implementation schedules, communications and procedures for the MAC regarding network infrastructure activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Steady state environment support of network infrastructure for all NYC Metro locations
All aspects of physical plant for access, distribution, from closets to computer rooms.
Assist manager with all aspects of projects that require physical plant to be added, moved, or changed
Process and procedures for the care in feeding of all aspects of physical plant
2. Steady state environment support of server for all NYC metro locations.
Monitor backups to ensure completion.
Create quarterly emergency disks on all servers
Inventory back up tapes and ship off-site
File restore process from recalling the tapes from offsite to recovering the data
Monitor Anti virus to make sure that it is running on all servers
Monitor and delete orphan files (temp, bak, tmp) on servers that are low on disk space
On-site contact for third party vendors (Telecommunication, Compaq, Cisco, Siemens)
Create and manage print queues
3. Project management and Analysis
Perform Analysis
Developing project plans
Implementation schedules
Communicate updates internally as externally
Vendor management
QUALIFICATIONS
***MUST have 2-3 years of Tivoli and ArcServ
Ш 3+ years hands on experience working with Cisco and HP hardware
IBM TSM and ArcServ a must
Ш A+, MCSE Preferred
Ш Working knowledge and understanding of physical plant network infrastructure.
Ш Ability to work on multiple projects.
Ш Must have the ability to work under pressure with time sensitive constraints.
Ш Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ш Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Compensation: $35/hr
